There's an implicit rule that you can be with someone who is (half your age) plus seven years, so if you do the math you can also be with someone who is two times (your age minus seven). Example if you're 20, your partner can be17 to 26 : not very wide. If you're 40, 27 to 66 is a lot wider range. I'm in between so 60 seems still quite frightening to me but I could do 50.
